Since it’s not permitted to film or take photos inside prison, Brother Madrid contacted me to document an entire project: ideas entre rejas. It turned out to be a creativity course for inmates under the motto: we know anyone can have a good idea, even those who one day had the worst one of their lives.

The idea was to imitate old court illustrations: Quick portraits of expressions on cheap paper. The result were raw paintings with acrylic and pencil, made throughout the course of the classes inside the Estremera Prison.
